Two days ago, PA Senate considered HB 1979 - a bill to remove the sunset provision on the 20-year statute of limitations for documents signed under seal. In the olden days, signing a document under seal meant you affixed your or your company's seal directly onto hot wax on top of a legal document thus sealing it. Such an act in PA allowed for a much longer statute of limitations for the document, 20 years instead of 4 or 6, and also constituted the presumption that consideration had been been exchanged. Watch the PA Senate to find out if this 20-year statute of limitations for "documents signed under seal" expires or is renewed.
